The 21st century Stevie Wonder. The Briton Tony Momrelle is one of the most exciting and important soul musicians on the current scene. Tony started his solo career after being the lead singer of the legendary British acid jazz band Incognito for more than sixteen years. Hathaway or Stevie Wonder inspire him, but also countless other sounds and styles, which are given their very own touch through his authentic interpretations. The singer and songwriter shows what British soul music means today. Tony has created an infectious mix of eighties-inspired synthesizers, jazzy keyboards, classical piano and rousing soul vocals. In his music career, which spans over 20 years, Tony has performed with some of the world's greatest artists, including Gloria Estefan, Celine Dion, Janet Jackson, Whitney Houston, Chaka Khan, Sade, Gary Barlow, Andrea Bocelli, Gwen Stefani and Robert Palmer. But vocally he is in no way inferior to these musical greats! Music critics such as John Rockwell and Paul Morley even see Momrelle as the new Stevie Wonder of the 21st century. During a tour with Incognito in Japan, Tony received a surprise call from Stevie Wonder, who told him that he was a fan.
