“That girl gets down to the nitty gritty.” Koko Taylor Danielle Nicole, singer, bassist, and songwriter from Kansas City, Missouri, has spent her life making music and wowing fans at home and abroad. Nicole was first influenced by her parents, who played in bands and were active in the Kansas City music scene. She remembers her father playing blues guitar and her mother singing with the group Little Eva and The Works, and that was the trigger. Together with her two brothers, Nick and Kris, she formed the "heavy blues" band Trampled Under Foot, which first became popular in the Midwest and then caused a worldwide sensation for over 10 years. There is no shortage of praise: Guitar World wrote: "Danielle Nicole has earned the respect and admiration of the entire American blues scene with her soulful, imaginative playing and tireless work ethic." Danielle began her solo career with the album Wolf Den, which peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Blues chart and racked up 7.5 million streams on Spotify. It was followed by Cry No More, which was nominated for a Grammy and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Blues chart – it also boasts over 10 million streams on Spotify. The Love You Bleed has racked up over 1.2 million streams in less than a year since its release on Forty Below Records. With eight Blues Music Awards for bassist and contemporary artist of the year in her career, Danielle Nicole has just warmed up.
