Catch an unrepeatable moment at the producer and keyboardist’s new show, as he crafts orchestral-sounding arrangements on the spot, using a single synth. Over five years in the making, Dorian Concept’s new live show is based around squeezing as much as possible out of a single synthesizer (the Roland SH-101). Over the course of 20 years, Dorian Concept has become famed for his singular, beautifully detailed sonic tapestries and wild, utterly joyful live keyboard jam videos. In this new live show, he turns these minute-long, loop-based performances into densely layered and orchestral-sounding songs on the spot. There might be segments that are planned – but most of it is improvised – with the setup inviting spontaneous decision-making and asking for a playful approach. As the musician says in his own words: ‘Musically, I love exploring microtonality, long-form and gradually changing arrangements, and complex polyrhythms. Similar to my Miniatures project from 2024, it’s about asking and answering the question of how much can I do with as little as possible!’
